British Birds

I shall be concentrating on British birds a litle more in the future as Ive rarely gone out to specifically photograph them.

British Deer

All the deer I have photographed on this site are completely wild, and can therefore go pretty much where they want when they want.
That could be why I find them so interesting.

They dont need their hooves clipping, feeding in Winter, their coats shearing, shelter when its cold, help with giving birth or mating they can do all that on their own but . . . they are pretty rubish at crossing the road and they tend to ride up over the bonnet and come in through the windscreen if your going quick enough which can be a bit embarrassing, so keep an eye out for the road signs please.

Kingfishers

I first saw this pair of Kingfishers in the depths of the New Forest by accident but have spent alot of time sitting waiting ever since. I must stress that all these KF shots have been taken at least 3/4 mile from their nest site as it is ILLEGAL to disturb these protected birds at, on or near the nest site.

Wild Barn Owl Eating Prey

Early in March this Barn Owl was spotted on a post whilst out photohraphing hare in Hampshire, it was quite happy to wait whilst I took some photos, it then flew up and down the same hedgerow occasionally dropping on and eating prey.
At one point it caught its quarry about 12 feet or so away from where I was sat watching with a clearveiw of him whilst he swollowed his 4th vole of the morning.

White Fallow Deer

I photographed a white Fallow Buck the first time I took a camera out of the house, I've tried to keep in touch with him ever since.
